Summary/Abstract: In the wake of a period of fascination with the potential of virtual worlds, fantastic multimedia or “impossible exhibitions”, museums are accepting a “strategy of rendering present” and return to original exhibits conceived as a specificity that distinguishes them amidst the world of simulacra. Is the reconstruction of non-existent artworks not simply part of a transformation of museums into artistic laboratories and sites producing works of art?
