Summary/Abstract: During the uprising and in the first weeks after the resumption of Slovak national authorities in the liberated territory (first the Delegation of the Slovak National Council, then its presidency and finally the plenary), presidential decrees did not apply in Slovakia, as the Slovak National Council did not consider them part of Slovakia's law. . This situation was later accepted by the Czechoslovak government. Since April 1945, it has been clearly stated that only those decrees are valid in Slovakia in which it is explicitly stated that they were created in agreement with the Slovak National Council. The Slovak National Council thus gained a significant share in national legislation. In addition, however, it tried to enforce the widest possible scope of its own competence in legislation, and thus regulated a number of fundamental issues, which many members of the government considered to be national issues, in the form of its own regulations for Slovakia. This also applies to some of those that are the subject of political speculation today.
