MOURNINGS AND MOURNERS OF THE BATKEN REGION OF KYRGYZSTAN

Summary/Abstract: Undoubtedly, human beings since their existence in the World have tried to understand death, which is a frightening reality. Our predecessors had their own memories, consciousness, and just like people before us, we tried to ask and understand questions about life and death after we started to get to know our environment and ourselves, but the human being who could only partially understand life could not give meaning to death, he rebelled against it and bellow came out as a result of this rebellion. The Kyrgyz Turks have called this lamentation as “Koshok''. In this study, the laments compiled by us from the Batken region and translated to Turkey Turkish will be mentioned.
