Summary/Abstract: The Cyprus Issue had been an agenda for the United States of America since the year 1958. Despite the Turkish-American relationships were proceeding on a solid ground since 1945, with the Cyprus topic the first cracks started to appear on relationships . Cyprus Issue, for Turkish-American relationships, became the most important unsolved problem. Cyprus Issue caused two serious breakages to Turkish-American relationships in 1964 and 1974. In this direction, even if it was for a short amount of time, it has became one of the many factors that provided the direction of Turkey to turn toward the west -to alternative alliances.
