Summary/Abstract: Business is in a continuous and dynamic process of adaptation in order to meet the market demand and to withstand in a competitive environment. In the context of the digitization and internationalization of commercial and research operations, organizations seek to protect business information considered valuable, and at the same time to comply with the requirements imposed by the regulations in the field of personal data protection and classified information. The present study highlights the types of information used in business activities and the available means of protection. The study focuses on the analysis of confidential information, classified information, personal data and public information processed through competitive intelligence activities.
