Summary/Abstract: In this study, the behavior of reinforced concrete beams produced with high strength concrete under increasing amplitude cyclic loads has been investigated experimentally. Test samples with shear span/beam effective depth ratio of 3.6 were tested by simulating earthquake effects, cyclic loads with displacement control. The experimental damage observations and deformation demands of the cantilever beam produced with high strength concrete were compared with the experimental results of the cantilever beam sample with the same reinforcement arrangement produced with normal strength concrete. The results obtained in the experimental study, in which the loading history and the vertical load effect were disregarded, were compared with the analytical results calculated in line with the Turkish Earthquake Regulation Damage Limit assumptions.
