Summary/Abstract: The specialized literature in the area of the European space remains unclear about the effects and the level of fulfillment of the role of disciplinary measures, in the context of the penitentiary environment. Although there are many states that draw attention to the need to have information on what are the types of punishments (disciplinary measures) that positively relate to psycho-behavioral change for each category of inmates, so far there is no such evidence . Extreme social isolation can have detrimental effects on the human mind and body. Although the effects of social isolation are terrible, they are reversible. Loneliness affects both mental and physical health. Socially isolated people have more difficulty coping with stressful situations. Moreover, they are more likely to feel depressed and have difficulty processing information.
