Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on the experiencing of walking, i.e. travelling on foot, which at present appears to be an increasingly extreme activity. Meanwhile, literature (or wider: writing, art) seems to be inseparably associated with walking; the text follows evidence of this connection, spanning from Aristotle to Bruce Chatwin, W.G. Sebald or Werner Herzog.
