Acoustic climate management in medical facilities – recommendations

Summary/Abstract: The results of noise measurements that were carried out in selected hospital rooms are characterised in the paper. The results of the assessment of working conditions in medical facilities due to noise are also discussed. This assessment was based on survey results of more than 300 doctors, nurses and diagnostic laboratory staff. The results of noise measurements and surveys formed the basis for the elaboration of general recommendations for acoustic climate management in operating rooms, treatment rooms, medical diagnostic laboratories, intensive care units, nurses' rooms and hospital corridors.
