Summary/Abstract: As legal persons, romanian credit institutions may be set up and operate according to the general and special provisions applicable to banks or credit institutions ruled by Emergency Ordinance 99/2006 on credit instituitions and capital adequacy. Romanian law stipulates many infrigements in this area as: the performance of prohibited activities, the unauthorised use by an individual of a specific name of a credit institution and the opening of accounts under fictious names.
