Kummer (‘grief’) and its Possible Translations into French

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this contribution is to identify the semantic characteristics of Kummer (‘grief ’) and its possible translation equivalents in French in order to determine the similarities and differences between these lexemes and provide a decision-making aid for choosing the most appropriate equivalent in a given context in the translation process. The lexemes are analysed by means of context analysis, which involves sorting their respective cooccurrences into semantic categories and subcategories. The results of this categorisation can provide insights into the semantic traits of the lexemes analysed.
