Summary/Abstract: Within the international contemporary law, neo-colonialism and neo-colonial practices of any kind, are put under express and total prohibition, being considerate as ”crimes against humanity”. Our paper tries to identify a typology of neo-colonialist practices within the global age, to explore new forms of neo-colonialism in comparison with classical, old definitions of neo-colonialism as offered by UN documents, and to reveal actors exerting such practices on the global stage. Neo-colonialism is treated from the perspective of the fundamental principles of international law, still in force, as sovereignty, equality in rights and obligations between all states, principle of self-determination of peoples, principle of non-inference in internal affairs of other state.
