Summary/Abstract: The idea of social justice, that is, the idea that society as a whole is governed by certain demands of justice, has a long tradition. We already find it in the writings of great thinkers of ancient Greece, such as Plato and Aristotle. Nevertheless, the term "social justice" is rather modern. It appears only during the industrial revolution, when people began to perceive their society as a form of a certain social coexistence and cooperation and also as a politically organized community. In the following explanation, I want to deal with the modern, contemporary concept of justice that has been developing in Europe over the last two hundred years and is widely accepted today, albeit with various reservations and critical approaches.
