Summary/Abstract: The contribution deals with the crime novel Hunkeler und der Fall Livius (2007; Hunkeler andthe Livius Case) by the Swiss author Hansjörg Schneider (born 1938). Its goal is to analyze the aesthetically effective incorporation of the historically authentic events of the World War II into the novel’s fictional world, in which the author applied the oral history method (interviewing contemporary witnesses) and partially relied on written sources.
