Consumer contracts

Summary/Abstract: Act No. 367/2000 Coll., Amending Act No. 40/1964 Coll., The Civil Code, as amended (hereinafter the "Civil Code"), and certain other acts, introduced into our legal system institute of so-called consumer contracts. The purpose of this regulation is primarily to provide the consumer, as a de facto (ie mainly economically, but also knowledge, information and professional) weaker party of the legal relationship, effective private law instruments of its protection, by which he could defend his endangered interests and needs. The second, so to speak, parallel, was to bring our legal order closer to the legislation of the European Communities.
