Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the deficits in the provision of information to victims of crime about their procedural rights and the related support and compensation. The regulatory framework of the right to information in the legislation of different normative rank is outlined, as well as weaknesses such as formalistic approach and complicated and not understandable language. Among the avenues for improving the provision of information the article points to the consolidation of the right to information into a new, specific chapter of the procedural legislation on rights of victims, the introduction of support persons and taking into account the gender dimension, specific notification of the right to translation and interpretation and the development of detailed practical procedural rules.
