Summary/Abstract: In this article I would like to render a definition of Functionalism, to observe general aspects of the applicability of the term and functionalist philosophy. We propose an observation of both the mental and practical sides applied in sociological studies and projections. We also intend to look at the arguments but also the counterarguments that make the study of theories work.
