Summary/Abstract: We see from what Evagrius says that one cannot exist without the other. Only true prayer is able to create theology and theology is the only evidence that attests true prayer. That is a very different vision of prayer than the academic one even if both are concerned with the mind. But in the case of pure prayer it represents its desired state.
