How can one cultivate old heritage – love towards books and to what degree new media consumption habits influence reading habits of children? Are these two opposite directions or they might be both directed towards the creation of firm reading and learning skills of children? Summing up existing research data, this paper attends to define tendencies and pedagogical methods directed towards creation of good reading and learning skills, in times when traditional and new media influence children’s everyday life in a great deal.
