Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the problem of assessment of municipality’s fiscal health. This subject is important in both theoretical and practical approach. The aim of the research is to assess the fiscal health of the major Lithuanian municipalities. The research is based on the financial reports of six Lithuanian municipalities in 2013–2017. The financial health of municipalities is assessed by calculating ten financial ratios that reflect four aspects of fiscal health: the ability to generate revenues, expenditure, the financial result of activity, and liabilities. The level of fiscal health of each municipality is assessed on the grounds of financial ratios. The research showed that the fiscal health of most municipalities is good.
