Summary/Abstract: The article is a meditation on the concept of anguish, which starts with a definition from a Baudelaire's poem, goes on with an incursion into the existentialist philosophy namely the significance given to this concept by great thinkers and artists such as Jaspers, Heidegger, Sartre, Camus, and finally focuses on the terrible consequences it has on day to day life.
