Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of prospective primary mathematics teachers on the concept of activity. The case study design among qualitative methods was followed in this study. The participants were 12 prospective teachers who were fourth graders in the department of primary mathematics teacher training at a state university located in the east of Turkey. For data collection, interview was used. Accordingly, separate semi-structured interview form was developed as data collection tool to investigate the perceptions of prospective teachers on the concept of activity. Content analysis was used as a qualitative research analysis technique for the data gathered through interviews. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the study, prospective teachers were able to understand the concept of activity; materials used, games played, active participation, provide better learning, the course is popularized, group work, learning is made, singing and everyday life as examples of applications and teaching methods were seen. In addition, almost half of the prospective teachers stated that they did not take lessons for the concept of activity during their undergraduate education.
