Summary/Abstract: Personality disorders in cluster B, borderline and antisocial, which find their counterpart inemotionally unstable and dissocial personality disorder in ICD 10 are some of the mostcommon diagnostic entities in current psychiatric practice, raising a number of clinical issues,regarding characteristic symptomatic elements and especially, frequently associatedpsychiatric comorbidities, among which are the addictions, mostly the chronic alcoholism andthe affective disorders. The present study aims to obtain a synthetic image of the emergencypresentation pattern of these cases, their socio-familial background and aggravatingpsychiatric comorbidities, in a prestigious single-profile medical unit, in order to mark a pointof departure for specialized intervention programs.
