Summary/Abstract: Such a complicated phenomenon as consciousness needs to be studied within a complex approach. Two philosophers criticize the physicalist understanding of the consciousness. D. Chalmers dividing the consciousness into the phenomenal and the psychological attempts to justify the irreducibility of the phenomenal to the psychological (or brain) processes. N. Sheman, the representative of the analytical feminism, is also sure that the physical processes themselves do not determine the content of our consciousness, but the senses they contain. Chalmers’ and Sheman’s anti-physicalist approaches do not disclaim but complement each other making the research of the consciousness complex
