Summary/Abstract: The abused child influences the way he expresses and behaves in relationships with others. As an adult, he may become an abuser or a victim in a relationship with his partner or as a parent to his children. The study involved 175 women between the ages of 20 and 35, of whom 97 were women who had childhood abuse experiences and 78 women who were not abused. The women completed several questionnaires, one of which was The Inventory of Hostility by Arnold H. Buss and Ann Durkee. As a result, we found that women abused in childhood accumulated an average value at higher indices of hostility M = 35,73, SD = 7,81, compared to women not abused in childhood, where M = 30,78, SD = 9,90, and the forms of expression of differentiated hostility are resentment, indirect hostility, irritability and verbal hostility.
