Summary/Abstract: In the UN Charter system, the prohibition of use of force and threat of force was considered one of the essential foundations of the legal construction of the international society,being the result of a constant normative and historical evolution. The general rule prohibiting the useof force in the regulation of relations between states admits two exceptions to this principle, namelyself-defence and recourse to force in accordance with the provisions of Chapter VII of the UNCharter
