Summary/Abstract: Agota Kristof‟s trilogy raises multiple questions. Right away, the text‟s meaning is problematic : it remains obscure because of the many changes in the narration and the omnipresence of lies. The twins‟ autobiographical production in the first volume is constantly questioned, since the diaries are hidden from potential readers. Therefore, the author‟s writings are concealed, which pushes readers to look for what is hidden from them. Ergo, Kristofian works are a space of literary experimentation, where every posture (the writer‟s, the narrators‟, the readers‟) escape traditionnal expectations. More than ever, fiction deploys itself in the passage between the real world and the fictionnal world. When Kristof multiplies the possible interpretations regarding her trilogy, she invites her readers to destroy the frontiers separating the many different possibilities for the caracters‟ existences. This seems to fit the queer project seeking the gender normative identities‟ deconstruction.
