Summary/Abstract: In May 2020, several legislative acts were published in the Official Journal, among which we mention: G.E.O. no. 59/2020 for the establishment of certain additional measures in the field of social protection in the context of the epidemiological situation determined by the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus; OMJ no. 1560/C/2020 for the establishment of the hiring procedure without contest in the penitentiary police, in virtue of Article 9 of the appendix no. 1 to the Decree no. 240/2020 regarding the extension of the emergency state within the Romanian territory; G.E.O. no. 70/2020 regarding the regulation of certain measures, starting with 15 May 2020, in the context of the epidemiological situation determined by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, for the extension of certain deadlines, for the amendment and supplement of Law no. 227/2015 regarding the Fiscal Code, of Law of national education no. 1/2011, as well as of other normative acts, as well as G.E.O. no. 72/2020 for suspending the application of the provisions of Article 21 para. (6) of Law no. 165/2013 regarding the measures for the completion of the restitution measures, in kind or by equivalent, of properties abusively taken during the communist regime in Romania and the imposition of certain transitional measures. Moreover, in May, several legislative acts were amended, among which: Appendix to the OPANOFM (Order of the President of the National Employment Agency) no. 346/2020 regarding the approval of the statement template provided for under Article 3 para. (1) letter c) of the Government Decision no. 217/2020 for applying the provisions of Law no. 19/2020 on granting days off to parents for the supervision of their children in case of temporary closure of schools; Law on cadastre and real estate advertising no. 7/1996; G.E.O. no. 57/2019 on the Administrative Code, as well as the G.E.O. no. 195/2002 on traffic on public roads. Furthermore, the Military Ordinances no. 11 and 12 regarding the prevention measures for spreading COVID-19 were published in the Official Journal of May, as well as the Government Decision no. 394/2020 on the declaration of the state of alert and the measures which are enforced during this state for preventing and fighting against the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
