POLICE PROFESSIONAL ETHICS – CHOSEN ASPECTS

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the issues related to the professional police ethics. The considerations attempted to answer the question whether working in the Police is a profession or service. Based on the general characteristics of the Police formation and the profession of policeman, it has been shown that professional ethics occupies one of the most important places in the daily service of police officers as their job is a profession of public trust. Unethical behaviors that most often appear in this environment were indicated. It allowed to come to the conclusion that the sources of police compliance with ethical norms and exemplary moral attitude are not only legal regulations or unwritten behavior patterns, but also their personal moral principles and value systems.
