Summary/Abstract: Despite of a wide spredead point of view, which usually places the Orthodox Church close to the conservative doctrine, my paper points out rather the opposite. Even if this study didn’t approach the relation between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Conservative Party, historians interested in political history of Romania in the second half of the nineteenth century would know that the conservative doctrine didn’t show a great deal of concern to Romanian Orthodox Church, like it used to do the doctrine of the Liberal Party. In this particular case, almost every political programme issued to the public used to talk about religious independence and the important role of the Orthodox faith in Romanian society.
