Summary/Abstract: We intended to demonstrate in this paper the hypertext character of erotic magic, starting from the suggestion of Sanda Golopenţia that she formulated in the book “Desire Machines”. Starting from the analysis of two magical practices described, contextualized and accompanied by poetic texts, we identified the connections with social and ritual manifestations occasioned by the entry of girls and boys in the nubile stage. For this, we chose as an example magical complexes designed to beautify, attract love and increase prestige, desired by the girls who went out to dance for the first time. We consider that an inter-textual approach to erotic magic would be useful in the in-depth analysis of the traditional Romanian mentality and society, of its mechanisms for maintaining order, and also in studies on symbolic thinking.
