Summary/Abstract: The opinion refers to the scope of application of the principle of discontinuing parliamentary works as regards organs of the executive obligated to provide answer to Deputies’ interpellations and questions as instruments of oversight vested in the parliament (the Sejm). The principle of discontinuing parliamentary works is a part of the Polish legal order as a norm of customary (parliamentary) law. The only exceptions therefrom result from the provisions of codified (universally or internally binding) law. No provision of the law presently in force excludes Deputies’ interpellations and questions therefrom, which is why the obligation of a member of the Council of Ministers to provide answer does not expire with the end of the term, regardless of whether the deadline to provide it falls before or after the first sitting of the Sejm of the new term.
