Risk Management at a Public University

Summary/Abstract: In the context of new public management reforms aiming for higher steering capacity and efficiency while emphasizing performance, and increasing international scientific position, the university is faced with a problem of proper risk management. There is a need to establish and assess any risk and choose the key risks which may limit or evenprevent universities from achieving their goals and performing public tasks. Risk management becomes even more important in the conditions of conducting business by universities. The article, using methods and techniques specific to management and quality science, identifies types of university risks and normative conditions of risk management.
