The amount of the legal interest that the professional must pay to a consumer

Summary/Abstract: The article proposes an interpretation of the regulations in Romanian law regarding the legal interest that a professional must pay to a consumer when he has been obliged to pay a sum of money to repair a damage created by a civil crime. The article specifically addresses the percentage level of the applicable interest rate. The article also includes a classification of the types of legal interest regulated by law and proposes a selection of the one applicable between professionals and consumers. Last but not least, the article presents the arguments invoked in a dispute that has as its object the concrete way of calculating the legal interest. It can be a useful tool for both the professional and the consumer.
