The values of the ideology of socialism through the lens of selected lexemes

Summary/Abstract: This text responds to the relationship of language, ideology and media in 1960s in Czechoslovakia. It focuses on the occurrence, meaning and function of selected vocabulary elements, which strongly reflect the ideological values of the given period of socialism. On the set of elected lexemes – labour, party, democracy, socialism, comrade, plan and populace shall be analogously identified the basic socialist values, but also their gradual development conditional on a change in social and political relations during the 1960s. The aim of the study is analyses and interpretation of the mutual overlap between the linguistic and communication conditions and manifestations of the political ideology.
