European identity and education for democracy and tolerance in the modern rule of law in context of axiological and cultural diversity and challenges of 21st century Europe.

Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to develop a modern model of European identity including Mus-lim influences and Islamic discourse. The author is looking for effective solutions and tools for broadly understood dynamic social integration in Europe of crises dealing with a sudden influx of people. The analysis of Islam as a way of life and the normative system leads to the conclusion that, despite the differences between cultures, there are axiological similarities, which are the key to the conclusion that a European social agreement aimed at achieving social order and being a guarantee of internal security is possible. Finding similarities is the starting point for educating Europeans to democracy and tolerance, and for respecting the same values which are to be shared by old and new citizens.
