Summary/Abstract: This report looks at a situation unparalleled in the history of libraries and the possibilities for reaction in several aspects. An overview of the opportunities for virtual work with users of the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” during the crisis is made. Synthesis shows also actions taken by library executives who participated in the Webinar on Libraries and COVID-19: Management Strategies and Stress, organized by the ALA, the Association of American Libraries. Discussions provide an opportunity to formulate problems and search for solutions to overcome them. Ways of protecting employees, preservationof the books and documentary heritage stored in the library, maintaining and keeping further consumers’interest in library services are discussed. The current situation requires librarians around the world to reschedule their work efficiently by remote performing of their daily tasks. It is clear to everyone, that the challenges are likely to continue.
