Summary/Abstract: After 23 August 1944, under the influence of the Soviet Union and of the Communist Party, the Romanian political authorities initiated an extensive campaign to purge the elements deemed as a threat to the new communist leadership. University students and professors were among the main targets. A strong pretext for removing people from the university system was their alleged membership in the Legionary Movement. Based on archival documents, this paper aims to present the involvement of students and teaching staff in the Legionary Movement at the Bucharest Faculty of Architecture of Bucharest, during the period 1938-1944.
