Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to clarify the role played by several institutions in the elaboration and coordination of communist Romania’s foreign policy. The author pays special attention to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and highlights its particular role within the institutional system and its relations with other state structures during the communist period.
