Georgy Kandilarov and Bulgarians in Macedonia

Summary/Abstract: The author follows the life path of the prominent igure of enlightenment Georgy Kandilarov, putting an emphasis on his merits as director of the Thessaloniki High School from 1883 until 1887. The High School was extremely important for the Bulgarians in Macedonia. Bulgarian children of Macedonia see it as their fulilled dream – to have Bulgarian High School, where they could study in their own native language.
