Evaluating The Factor Influencing the Accounting Professional Selection of Businesses Within the Scope of AHP Method: An Application in Sivas Province

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – In this study, it was aimed to weight the criteria influencing the accounting professional selection by the businesses operating in Sivas province and to determine the most important criterion selecting the professional selection of businesses Design/methodology/approach – In order to achieve this objective, a survey form prepared by using the 1-9 pairwise comparison scale of Saaty was applied to the business managers of the companies operating in Sivas and the data obtained were analyzed using AHP method. Findings and Discussion - In the analysis performed using AHP, it was determined that, among the criteria influencing the selection of profession member by the businesses, the criterion with the highest score was “profession member’s having a command of financial legislations” with the weight of 19.94%, followed by “keeping the company information confidential” with the weight of 16.71%, “profession member’s help in bureaucratic transactions” with the weight of 15.62%.
