Doğan has been considered as source in determining poetry book names. The sample of this study includes 1363 poetry book names that shown in this work. These names have been classified according to their formation from single word, phrase, sentence, subtracted structure, “phrase + word” or “phrase + subtracted structure”, ordered word sequences, non-Turkish phrases or sentence, nonce formation derivations by poet. In this study, it has been derived that poets from this genre prefer to name their works more in phrases with 20 different types particularly with possessive constructions. In this study, a structural analysis has been made by maintaining the syntactic reflections of the mental processes in which poets are involved. As a result of this analysis, the reasons why poets prefer different syntactic structures have been taken into consideration in order to contribute to onomastics.
