Current topics of adult civic education

Summary/Abstract: Civic education as one of the types of adult education plays an irreplaceable role in society. It develops civic self-awareness and freedom, resilience to manipulation and frustration in society, as well as preventing extremism. If it is to be effective and efficient, it, by its nature and nature, requires that it be carried out indefinitely, as an integral part of further education, and at the same time it must be identified and accessible to all groups of the population without delay. The paper deals with selected characteristic features of adult civic education, its content and brief outline of institutional provision of civic education in the Czech Republic and Germany.
