Summary/Abstract: Due to its geographical position, Romania was prevented from dealing with certain migration flows as it was the situation in other member states. However, the current national context and the expected adhering to the Schengen area will pose some challenges related to migration. This article describes the irregular migration trends that may affect Romania once the country has entered the Schengen area and analyze the current relevant legislation and the measures to be taken by our country in order to face the challenges posed by this phenomenon.
