Summary/Abstract: The article discusses a textbook on Russian as a foreign language for advanced learners (Discussion) recently published by a scholar from the Institute of Russian Studies. The primary focus is on the approach to the structure of the textbook reflecting the cognitive and communicative method. Besides, the author highlights the wealth of lexis exercises, the cultural and linguistic plan of the work, as well as ample opportunities to develop speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills. Also, much room is devoted to the thematic diversity of the work, covering such areas as medicine, sports, cosmetology, finance, or sociology.
