Summary/Abstract: The present article contains research on legal status of the public prosecutor in criminal proceedings at the first instance court pursuant to the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. In particular, the author has analysed the scope of fundamental powers vested with the public prosecutor in criminal proceedings at the first instance court, specifically: supporting the charges brought by the public prosecution before the court, changing charges, bringing supplemental charges, initiating proceedings against a legal entity and refusal to support the charges brought by the public prosecution.
