Summary/Abstract: When observing the long-term process of music education, the question arises whether, and to what extent, it is possible to form a proper attitude towards musical interpretation within solfeggio teaching: the ability to perceive all components of a musical score during ones first encounter with it. To that effect, we analyzed secondary school and university student attitudes towards the importance, and evaluation of, vocal interpretation in individual areas within solfeggio teaching. Specifically, those that are present during the process of transferring information about the musical text to a sound reproduction of that text. The results have shown that the ability to perceive multiple components during ones first encounter with a melodic exercise is proportionate to the level of education.
