Connections Between an Object and a Fragment

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on three questions. First, how do (art) objects shatter? Second, what are the clusters of fragments like that are created through shattering? Third, what are the relationships between objects and the clusters of fragments like, how closely do they belong together and what is this belonging together based on? These questions are not discretely separated from each other in the article and they are also interconnected in real life. This article is an attempt to map the tension field between whole objects, clusters of fragments and conservation practice.
