Summary/Abstract: Sūrahs created by verses and parts of Qur’ān sometimes deal with one or more subjects according to their length. It is possible to distinguish Mekkī and Medenī sūrahs from many aspects such as style, meter, subject and size. In the Mekkī sūrahs, three main themes are discussed, such as monotheism, afterlife and prophethood. In the Medenī sūrahs in addition to these, in general, provisions related to social and individual lives, worshiping and explanations about Jews and Christians are included. Despite the fact that it is sent in the early period time as of its subject, style and nuzūl period, Māūn, which was declared as a sūrah of Mecca period by the majority of scholars, was interpreted in two parts with a fragmentary approach in tafsīr. Especially 4 to 7 th verses are explained in relation to the hypocrites, and accordingly, the words salāt, riyā, veyl and māūn are explained without taking into account the integrity of the Qur’ān and sūrah. In this study, the thought that sūrah Māūn is Mekkī and “an integral sūrah” was examined from different perspectives and under different titles.
