Summary/Abstract: This study aims to discuss the problem of distribution via the Movie It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, directed by Stanley Kramer, one of the directors of the Cold War era directors of Hollywood cinema. The movie is about the struggle of deserving and distribution and a colossal allegory of human history. Tension between the protection of individual interests and social unity and harmony, bring to mind the differing theories of justice of John Rawls and Robert Nozick, who left their mark in social and political philosophy of the 20th century. Referring to contractual theories based on a hypothetical compromise, Rawls and Nozick establish two different liberal utopias. Despite setting out from a search for a social order that guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms, the two thinkers arrive at conflicting justice theories. Rawls, presents a theory by which people can be convinced to transfer some of their holdings to less advantaged people in the society with their free will in order to live in a fair cooperation order. As a result of a fair cooperation, he reaches the understanding of distributive justice. According to Nozick, the acquired assets and revenues are for the sole disposition of their owners and cannot be exchanged, except for voluntary transfer and grants. There is no question of redistribution of resources in a free society. The fiction of It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World allows interpreting the two liberal utopias and providing an opinion on the conflict between them. On the other hand, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, a road story, allows questioning the power to head for a fair share and act in cooperation with free will in the distribution of 'a money that does not belong to anyone' of society members. Director Kramer's film is a source of a rich debate on human nature, social order and the political system on the axis of justice.
